Audubon 5" Plush Bird - Eastern Bluebird

Sialia Sialis

Order: Passeriformes

Family: Turdidae

The Eastern Bluebird is a small thrush with a big, rounded head, large eyes, full body, and alert posture. The wings are longer than average and the tail and legs are rather short. The bill is small and straight.

This male Eastern Bluebird has a deep colorful palette consisting of a depth-filled blue on the top and a copper tone on the chest. Mainly feeding on insects, this species also eats berries and fruit in the fall and winter seasons. These birds commonly nest in premade boxes and abandoned bird holes such as Woodpeckers'.

You can find these birds in meadows and openings around lightly wooded areas. Eastern Bluebirds breed in the northeast during the summer season, but also are in the south east year-round. You can find these birds in the states like Texas and some of Mexico during the colder months.

Audubon has taken this Eastern Bluebird and created a realistic plush toy with Wild Republic that makes authentic bird calls, perfect for that bird watcher enthusiast. The more you squeeze this little bird, the more you'll want to go outside and find the real thing!
